A third generation Singaporean, Tharshini Ganesan attended University at Buffalo, New York where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.

 

After graduation, she worked at Digitas for three years, as a marketing associate, collaborating on various marketing research and creative advertisements for global brands.

 

She left to pursue law by attending Cambridge University. Apart from being an advocate and solicitor, she also volunteers through pro-bono work. This allowed her to connect with the people of various backgrounds.

 

As a lawyer, Tharshini understands the intricacies and workings of the legal system. Through her legal career, she has transformed many lives especially through her pro-bono work. Furthermore, her interaction at Meet-the-People sessions has enabled her to understand more of the problems the people face regarding their social and economic backgrounds.

 

Through her interaction with Singaporeans from all walks of lives, Tharshini created a campaign to address issues pertaining the financial and social problems many face.

 

This campaign aimed at increasing social mobility and financial stability especially for lower income to middle income families. The campaign has expanded to support other initiatives and issues in years since it was launched.

 

She hopes to build a brighter and more successful Singapore and believes that her various professions have equipped her in the challenges that comes as a Prime minister of Singapore.

 

The Woke Party was created to re-establish trust in the government that has been wavering currently. Moreover, the party is made up of a collective group of individuals who wants to ensure that every action, every plan made are in the interest of the public.
